The word ‘employment’ is derived from the Latin word ‘occupare’ which means to occupy or to fill. Employment is a relationship between an employer and an employee in which the former provides services and facilities for the latter, who renders his/her services in return. Employment refers to any work performed by an employee for wages or salary, or commission, under any kind of working conditions as per the will and direction of his/her employer. The term employment also includes self-employment where a person works on his own account but not as an employee
